Difference between High School and Uni

Transcript

Hi, Shannen here.

Graduating high school and starting university is a really exciting next chapter in your student journey.

With all of the changes ahead, and we don't mean just losing the uniforms, it's important to remember that uni is about being what you want to be.

This is an amazing opportunity for you to study your passions, but also take charge of your future, and uni will be different to school.

At uni, you get to choose your own subjects and make your own schedule. You might even find that your classes look different as well.

You might attend lectures in big theatres, attend smaller tutorial lessons, or even go on practical placements.

And like school, you'll still have assignments and exams. The difference is, you're in charge of your own personal learning experience.

You choose what you'll get out of it and how successful you'll be.

But uni isn't all about study, it's about making lifelong friends with people who share your interests, so get out there and join a university club or society, attend a student event or even study abroad.

There's going to be so many new challenges at uni that you haven't experienced before, and that's ok.

Just remember these are all stepping stones towards your future.
