The NBL season is about to kick off and so is our student program! We’re looking for 2018’s most valuable players (MVPs) when it comes to sport sciences in the classroom.

Current year 10, 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to WIN a spot in our exclusive program and experience an exercise and sports science workshop hosted by lecturer Dr Joshua Guy at the brand new shared facilities with the Taipans on Aumuller St.

The program includes:

  • Exercise and Sport Science workshop where you’ll explore injury prevention, recovery strategies, performance optimisation, strength and conditioning and how to gain the competitive edge using methods such as wearable technology, player load management and testing protocols
  • Tour the brand-new shared facilities between CQUni and the CQUniversity Cairns Taipans on Aumuller St and demo some of the technology and equipment in the labs including the metabolic cart which measures VO2 max, a cycle ergometer to determine anaerobic power and electric timing gates which measure speed
  • Catch part of the Taipans in-season training session and explore performance data insights with Catapult technology
  • Corporate box seats for the Cairns Taipans VS Adelaide 36ers game on Friday, 26 October
