CQUniversity is excited to once again run the Central Queensland Regional Titration Competition in 2017. The aim of the competition is to encourage students who enjoy Chemistry, especially analytical Chemistry, and to recognise those who are becoming proficient in titration skills.
The competition in Central Queensland has been held annually since the mid-1980's by CQUniversity, on behalf of the Royal Australian Chemistry Institute (RACI) as a regional competition, and is part of the Australian National Chemical Analysis Competition.
Who: Year 10, 11 and 12 Chemistry students
What: Students compete in teams of three and must complete a set of acid-base titrations to determine the unknown concentration of a weak acid. This team's score will depend on the accuracy of the work of its members.
When: Wednesday 16 August, 9.30 am - 12.30 pm
Where: CQUniversity Gladstone Marina, Bryan Jordan Drive. Arrangements can be made for schools with a travel distance of more than one hour to complete the competition at there school.
Cost: $29.70 per team
