Performance Management at CQUniversity was developed to assist in creating an environment which allows the development of the full potential of its human resources in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the organisation.
The formal performance management process for all staff is called Performance Review, Planning and Development (PRPD) and is supported by the following policies and forms:
The goal of these policies and forms is to provide the basis for a user-friendly, comprehensive, consistent performance management system for all CQUniversity staff, both academic and professional. The implementation of this system reflects the University's commitment to developing individual and organisational capability in alignment with the strategic and operational goals of both the University and organisational work areas.
The PRPD process is designed to provide staff with feedback on their job performance, to assist in workload planning and to plan professional development activities to support the goals of their position and work unit. PRPD also provides a process that supervisors can use to further the Faculty/Division/Unit's common goals, acknowledge achievements of their staff, identify areas for improvement, and work with individual staff to build on their strengths.
Who should complete a PRPD?
It is expected that all supervisors will complete a PRPD process with every relevant staff member by the end of each calendar year (ie. all permanent and fixed-term staff on contracts of 12 months or more). Please note: PRPD is not to be conducted during a probationary period; please follow the probation procedures for professional or academic staff during this time.
