Yeppoon is a coastal town located 40 km north east of Rockhampton and approximately 700 km north of Brisbane. It is well known for its beautiful beaches, tropical climate, and 27 tropical islands within close proximity of the town.
Yeppoon is considered the gateway to the Capricorn Coast and Southern Great Barrier Reef and the area enjoys a subtropical climate, with maximum temperatures ranging from 21 to 29 degrees Celsius. Due to its tropical climate, there is a regular supply of tropical fruit, including mangoes, pineapples, and lychees, and the annual Yeppoon Lion's Pinefest is celebrated by pineapple growers every October.
In the 19th century Yeppoon was developed as a seaside resort and became popular with miners and tourists alike as a place to settle down and enjoy a coastal lifestyle.
With a picturesque esplanade, beautiful beaches, and a number of tropical islands nearby, Yeppoon is a great place to live, study, or work.
