CQUniversity has invested $2.5 million into the expansion of its growing Noosa campus to upgrade facilities, increase operational space and allow for a doubling of student capacity from 600 to 1200 over the next four years, with a range of new degrees delivering more locally trained graduates to the community.

The Noosa campus offers modern facilities and surrounds including clinical nursing laboratories, library and student resource centre facilities and state of the art collaborative learning spaces.

About Noosa

Noosa is about 130km north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast region.  Located in the heart of Noosaville, students at CQUniversity Noosa will benefit from studying in a coastal community well known around Australia and the world for its surfing, beaches, pristine river, fine restaurants and national    parks.

Climate

Noosa has an almost perfect holiday climate. Warm sunny days and water temperatures are normal for most of the year, making Noosa the ideal beach holiday location.

Population

The Sunshine Coast, stretching from Noosa to Caloundra, has a population of 306,909 (Census 2011).

Economy

The Sunshine Coast's economy has doubled in size in the last decade, with a Gross Regional Product now exceeding $10 billion. The Sunshine Coast economy is home to over 34,500 registered businesses across a range of industry sectors.

The Sunshine Coast has a well established foundation in the tourism, retail and construction sectors. With a strong focus on further diversifying the region's economy, the Sunshine Coast has experienced business growth in recent years in financial and insurance services; professional, scientific and    technical services; health care and social assistance; and education and training – with these sectors collectively comprising nearly 25% of all businesses in the region.

Public Transport

CQUniversity Noosa is served by Translink, Route 632, Bus Stop: Goodchap Street near Juron Drive. Noosa is also served by Queensland Rail (Cooroy) and national bus services.

The Sunshine Coast has access to national and international airports, including the Sunshine Coast Airport and Brisbane Airport.

Sport

The Noosa region has an active sporting community and CQUniversity students are invited to join local teams or start their own. Noosa is also famous for its annual triathlon.

The Sunshine Coast has a range of aquatic centres, sport complexes and leisure centres. There are also mountain bike tracks, walking tracks, canoe trails and horse riding tracks available on the coast.
