Wide Bay Burnett Region – Professor Andy Bridges
Professor Andy Bridges is the Associate Vice-Chancellor for the Wide Bay Burnett Region and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience and Strategic Development). As Associate Vice-Chancellor, Andy is keen to promote the Wide Bay Burnett region as an outstanding environment to pursue university studies and research. Bundaberg offers a wide range of programs across discipline areas including Health, Education, Engineering and Business. Research undertaken at the Bundaberg Campus relates to the community it is a part of with strengths in Resilient Communities, Horticulture and Gambling Behaviour.
In his role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), Andy heads up a division that oversees the student journey from admission and enrolment through to graduation and undertakes a comprehensive range of student services with a strong focus on ensuring a positive student experience for all students.
As Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Development) Andy has oversight of major development projects both nationally and internationally.
As a member of the University's Senior Executive, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor supports the Vice-Chancellor and President with the leadership and management of the University, underpinning its vision and academic direction as an innovative, accessible and great University in line with its values and Strategic and Operational Plans.
