Strategic Plan 2024-2028
As CQUniversity embarks on the realisation of its current strategic plan Our Future is You 2019-2023, the University now seeks to develop a new strategic plan that builds on past foundations, but which places a firm focus on the future and the emerging issues that are driving the world around us.
CQUniversity is currently in the process of developing its new strategic plan that will provide the University and its people with strengthened focus on our values and determination to deliver high-quality education and skills, and impactful research. The new strategic plan will be implemented from 2024-2028 and will be informed by the results of the University’s innovative Education Futures project. The Plan will also be informed by the needs and vision of the wider CQUniversity community which is made up of staff, students, alumni, industry and regional partners, government, and donors. It is critical that CQUniversity’s new strategic plan represents the future needs of all stakeholders so that the University can meet its future social, economic, and environmental responsibilities.
CQUniversity strives to deliver a new strategic plan that is bold, authentic, and true to the University’s values of engagement, can-do, openness, leadership and inclusiveness. The Plan must also reflect the aspirations and ever-evolving needs of the regions and industries the University serves, not just in Australia but right across the world.
CQUniversity invites you to explore a snapshot of the proposed strategic direction by reviewing the 2024-2028 New Strategic Plan Consultation Paper. You are then encouraged to provide your honest feedback on what you believe the proposed strategic goals for CQUniversity should be.

The feedback process has been framed around the three pillars where we seek to deliver the most impact. These are:
- People: As our people are our purpose, and their success is our legacy.
- Planet: As our planet is in our hands, and it’s our responsibility to make a difference for tomorrow’s generations.
- Partnerships: As our success as a university relies on our engagement and collaboration with our partners.

- Delivery of new student-centred curriculum.
- An almost 50 per cent increase in research higher degree EFTSL.
- Increased EFTSL among all categories of students including VET, undergraduate, postgraduate and research.
- New international research partnerships.
- A 50 per cent increase in social and First Nations procurement.
- A 50 per cent increase in philanthropic income.
- Development and launch of a new CQUniversity Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
- Established partnerships with 16 new regional and community university centres across Australia, increasing access to higher education and training in some of the most regional and remote areas of Australia.
- Social Innovation principles embedded within 81 per cent of courses.
- Year-on-year improvement in graduate outcomes results for VET, undergraduate and postgraduate.
- Launch of an Australian-first Graduate Guarantee.
