NTEU/CQU Branch Strategic Planning Retreat
Rockhampton, 23-24 October 2000

What Happens Next?

  The CQU Branch Strategic Planning retreat was held in Rockhampton 23-24 October 2000. The Report to Members (pdf files linked below) documents the retreat sessions.
    The final session of the Retreat initiated a process for the Branch membership to prioritise the issues arising from the discussions. The preparation of this report and its distribution (13/11/00) is the first step in that process.
    The next step involves a survey form to be mailed to all Branch members summarising the Retreat discussions and setting out a number of initiatives for prioritisation.
The purpose of the survey is to identify where you, the members, feel the Branch should put its resources so that the NTEU is
    * More than just an industrial instrument
    * Proactive, not reactive
    * Involved in university governance,
       the community and other unions
    Your comments on the Retreat discussions and suggestions for further action are also encouraged. Please respond direct to the Branch Secretary (Dan Coughlan) or one of the Branch Vice-Presidents (Academic: Ken Dooley; General: Malcolm Russell).
    Your participation in Branch activities is also strongly encouraged. Contact any of the Branch Executive members to volunteer to assist.
