School engagement is a crucial component of our ongoing vision to make university more accessible and relevant to all school students.

This section of our site has been developed to provide you with the information you'll need to assist your students make the next step.

We are committed to helping your student be what they want to be. Our degrees open the door to career opportunities in Australia and overseas, preparing your students with the skills and knowledge to ensure your students are work-ready when they graduate.

Engage with CQUniversity – Activities, tours and more

You can make requests for CQUniversity to come and visit your school to deliver information to a targeted group of students, or we can offer for them to come and visit one of our campuses to see what university life and what studying a particular degree is really like.

Would you like to invite CQUniversity to your school or event? Complete our online form to request a visit or organise a combined activity.

We can cater our presentation to suit your student current needs. We also offer campus tours, role model visits, quest lecturing programs, interschool competition and a university e-newsletter service – if you would like to sign up for our university e-news please email schools@cqu.edu.au.

We can offer involvement at speech nights and offer a range of prizes and scholarships to students enrolling at CQUniversity. You can also make special requests if you have any particular requirements that we not listed by emailing schools@cqu.edu.au or completing our online form.

Making an Informed Choice

Detailed information can make all the difference when your student is faced with the many choices regarding their future education and career. Choosing the university and degree that’s right for your student is important – matching careers and degrees with your student’s strengths and interests will make a successful learning journey much easier.

Prospective students can access many resources to help with career decision making:

Career Planning Sessions help future students to make career decisions in relation to occupation and program options and cater for students who are not sure of which program they should study or what career path is the correct one for them. Sessions are available in Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Bundaberg. Bookings essential via ssc-careers@cqu.edu.au.  
Program Advisors from our Student Support Centre are available to give individual advice on our degrees, scholarships, support services and more – call 13 27 86 for more.

SUN (Start Uni Now)  

Students can get a real taste of university life, by taking part in the SUN program. This CQUniversity program allows high achieving students in years 11 & 12 to take up to 4 university courses whilst they are still in high school. They can enjoy a taste of university life and potentially receive direct entry if they successfully pass a course and receive their QCE certificate. Visit the SUN section for more.
