Research Higher Degrees

CQUniversity has a commitment to excellence in research and innovation with a particular emphasis on issues that affect the region. CQUniversity achieves relevance in its research goals through linkages with industry, business, government and the community and through collaboration with national and international researchers and research networks.

Research degrees require you to undertake supervised research on a specific topic of interest. The choice of topic is varied. You can choose any area, provided the University confirms the topic is valid and we are able to provide suitable supervision and resources.

Your research will lead to the submission of a thesis which will be critically reviewed by an expert panel. This thesis must make a significant and original contribution to new knowledge. To assist in this, CQUniversity provides a range of exciting and relevant research opportunities for Masters and PhD candidates and is committed to excellence and quality in the research training experience of its candidates.

Scholarships and Prizes

We at CQUniversity Australia want to ensure that all our students - regardless of your economic, social or personal circumstances - have every opportunity to attain a tertiary education and our scholarship program is one way we support you. Many CQUniversity scholarships are established by individuals and organisations within our community who feel passionate about enabling students to achieve a tertiary education and enabling each and every one of you to be what you want to be.

In addition to community-funded scholarships, CQUniversity also provides students with access to a range of Commonwealth-funded scholarships that offer support to students from recognised equity groups, including those from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and from rural or isolated areas.

Enabling Programs

CQUniversity's Enabling Programs have been developed to help brighten your future through university study. No matter what your situation, there is a program for you. STEPS will provide you with the skills for tertiary entry and will fast-track your pathway to undergraduate studies, and TEP is an innovative entry program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

CQUniversity's Enabling Programs can help you return to study, get up-skilled, provide a pathway for a career change or help you get that promotion. No matter what your aspirations, our Enabling Programs can offer you an alternative pathway to achieving your goals and will give you the opportunity to gain the confidence, knowledge and skills required to successfully study at university.

Even if you do not meet the traditional QTAC requirements, have not studied for many years or didn't finish high school, we have a program to suit you in a range of delivery modes to suit your lifestyle.
