The Master of Information Systems at CQUniversity provides you with an opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills in information systems processes as an integral tool for improving organisational performance. This program develops your capacity to manage the functional responsibility for choosing, implementing and maintaining information systems within an organisation in any industry.
You will extend your knowledge and understanding of design, implementation, and management issues involved in the application of IT, and obtain an advanced understanding of the techniques and practicalities of the information systems development process. The program will give you the knowledge of management of organisation technology and security. It will also equip you with the skills required by modern businesses for solving contemporary information systems problems.
Within this program you will study six courses giving you the foundation knowledge in information systems, in addition to choosing six courses from an area of specialisation.The specialty plans in this program focus on particular aspects of technology, management and organisations.You may choose from information systems, enterprise security management and technology management. Within each area of specialisation you can choose elective subjects from within the business or information technology areas.
The choice within this program allows you to design your degree to suit your interests and desired career outcomes.

A bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college; or a CQUniversity Graduate Certificate in Information Systems, or equivalent.
If you have completed an approved graduate diploma such as the CF05 Graduate Diploma of Information Systems, you will be granted standing of up to four core courses and two electives provided the electives are chosen from the approved list of courses for the CF05 Graduate Diploma of Information Systems. Advanced entry is available directly into term 2 if you can demonstrate that you have attained the required knowledge. With advanced entry you will undertake nine courses to complete the program. To be granted advanced entry you must:
1. have a bachelor degree; and
2. be able to demonstrate you have the required knowledge (based on the content of COIS20025, COIT20228 and COIT20233); and
3. either:
You may also be granted advanced standing for one or two courses if you meet the requirements of (1) and (3) above but cannot sufficiently demonstrate that you have the required knowledge (based on the content of in all three courses COIS20025, COIT20228 and COIT20233) to receive full advanced standing.

Please note: The Information Systems and Enterprise Management specialisations only have provisional accreditation until the end of 2011. Students should check the current status of accreditation prior to enrolling in the program.
