The Master of Chiropractic Science integrates and develops the knowledge and skills gained in the CQUniversity Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) and is the professional qualification that allows registration and practice as a chiropractor in Australia and overseas.

What am I studying?

In this degree you will learn advanced clinical skills in the diagnosis and management of patients presenting for care. Within a patient-centred learning environment you will develop a broad range of contemporary spinal and patient assessment procedures and advanced therapeutic approaches appropriate for primary contact, primary care practice, specialising in musculoskeletal and related presentations.

You will manage patients from a wellness perspective to help them achieve their optimal well-being and will incorporate nutrition and a range of lifestyle adaptations. You will apply the history, philosophy, principles and theories of chiropractic and relevant chiropractic psychomotor skills integrated with a knowledge of clinical science.

Your practical skills will be developed within Australia’s newest, state-of-the-art chiropractic clinical practice environment, supported by significant work-integrated learning in approved clinics Australia-wide and in some overseas countries.

Chiropractic courses comprise work integrated learning in a range of forms including activities in chiropractic clinics, other health clinics, and mini study tours to overseas countries.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of a three year, six term equivalent undergraduate chiropractic program accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia (CCEA). While the CQUniversity Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) is specifically sequenced for optimal articulation, other accredited bachelor programs will be considered. Successful completion is defined as a GPA of 5.0 or higher on a 7.0 scale.

Program Structure

To be awarded the Master of Chiropractic Science you must complete 16 courses, totalling 96 units of credit.

Professional Recognition

Professional recognition is gained on completion of the Master of Chiropractic Science. You will be eligible to apply for registration as a chiropractor with the Chiropractic Board of Australia (CBA). Students commencing the master are automatically recognised by the CBA as Registered Student Chiropractors. You will also be eligible for membership of the peak professional body, the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA). Students commencing the master are eligible for student membership of the CAA.
