The Associate Degree in Learning Management provides personal and professional development for a variety of school support workers, such as teacher aides. The program will help you increase your skills in supporting learners in the areas of literacy and numeracy and in assisting those with special needs.
You will become familiar with theories and practices concerning teaching in a changing educational environment and the management of learning in the education system.

The Associate Degree in Learning Management is designed to provide you with a knowledge and understanding of theories and practices appropriate for the management of learning in an emergent education industry. You will also gain a strong understanding of theories and practices appropriate for teaching in changing educational environments and the professional work of teachers and teaching no matter where they are located, including socio-ethical, legal and security issues in such settings.
Please note: entry is restricted to applicants who are experienced school learning support workers, such as teacher aides, as evidenced by supporting documentation (e.g. statement of service).
Upon successful completion of this degree you may find career opportunities in the following roles; teacher aide, school support worker, after-school care worker or vacation care worker.
You are required to complete 16 courses (subjects), totalling 96 units of credit. This program may be completed either full-time or part-time while you continue to be employed in your learning support role (i.e. teacher aide). You will study courses in learning management, English curriculum and pedagogy, the global future, sustainable communities, ensuring student success, management e-learning, building learning partners, professional knowledge in context and more.
Graduates of the Associate Degree in Learning Management may be eligible to articulate into an ‘internal ‘offering of the Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary Education) program. Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary Education) program graduates are eligible for teacher registration in Queensland.
