There are no limitations to where a business degree can take you. The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting program provides you with dual qualifications and skills which are well regarded in both the private and public sectors. You will develop a sound understanding of both disciplines and the relationship between accounting and the legal profession. The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Accounting is accredited by CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants and satisfies the academic requirement for admission as a legal practitioner.
In this program you will study compulsory courses focusing on the key principles of accounting, financial accounting, management accounting, business finance and more. You will also study courses in law including criminal law, constitutional law, administrative law, corporations law, revenue law, jurisprudence and more.
This degree not only provides you with the opportunity to study a degree that is recognised by professional accounting bodies throughout Australia and the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board of Queensland, but also gives you the flexibility to design a program of study that will best meet your individual career aspirations and take advantage of the rapidly changing career opportunities that exist in the modern business environment.
The combined nature of the program will prepare you for a number of careers in professional legal practice, professional accounting practice, in commerce, industry and the public sector. Careers may include solicitor, barrister, government legal officer, judicial officer, law academic, company director, in-house counsel, diplomat, politician, financial consultant, auditing and assurance services, international accountant, strategic manager, taxation specialist, management accountant.

The degree is accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admission Board of Queensland and an approved academic qualification for admission to the legal profession. As a graduate, you are also required to undertake a further period of practical legal training before being admitted as a legal practitioner.
This program is accredited by the CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and meets the membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) (formerly the National Institute of Accountants (NIA)) Restricted Member IPA status. However, these organisations accredit each campus individually, so students must check the current status of accreditation for their desired study location.
