The Bachelor of Business (Specialisation) is one of CQUniversity’s most popular and long-standing programs. Graduates for this program are in high demand and have a high employment rate. The success of CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business (specialisation) lies with the consistent review and industry consultation which allows students to graduate with skills and knowledge sought after by employees.
The Bachelor of Business (Specialisation) has been refreshed in 2013 and will provide you with added flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your interests and career aspirations. You will study eight core business courses focusing on the essential skills required in all areas of business and then have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of majors including Accounting, Human Resources Management, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, Property, Public Relations, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, or Tourism. You will also be able to study a number of elective courses that can be chosen from the business field or undertake another major. The flexibility within this program allows you to design your study around your interests and desired career.

There are no limitations to where a business degree can take you. Graduates choose from a broad spectrum of occupations including administration officer/manager, economics advisor, quality manager, accountant, human resources manager, marketing manager, logistics manager, hospitality manger, property professional, purchasing and materials manager – just to name a few. A business career offers diverse employment opportunities and the ability to advance from an entry-level position to supervisor, manager, consultant or senior executive within business, government or non-profit organisations in the industry of your choice.
Business graduates gain superior communication skills and have in-depth knowledge of their area of interest. They have transferable skills that allow them to work successfully in a number of professions within a variety of organisations.
A business degree can take you all over the world, both throughout your study and when seeking employment. Tertiary-qualified business graduates may be able to gain professional accreditation in a number of fields that allow them to work abroad. CQUniversity also provides you with the opportunity to study part of your degree abroad or participate in an overseas experience while studying your degree. This gives you valuable international experience which is highly sought after by employers.

The first year of CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business provides you with the foundations of business, a broad base of core skills that can apply to a diverse range of modern business situations. In years two and three of this program you will have the opportunity to specialise in several key business fields and the flexibility to undertake a double major.
You are required to complete a total of 24 courses (subjects) including eight core courses, one major consisting of eight courses and eight elective courses from the Bachelor of Business majors or other approved business courses or a second major consisting of eight courses. Majors include:

The Human Resource Management major is accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI). As a graduate, you will be eligible for membership of AHRI upon successful completion of your program.
As a Marketing graduate you may be eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
As a Management graduate you may be eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Management.
Accreditation for the Supply Chain Management major by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is currently under review. If you are seeking further information on the current status of accreditation, please contact the Head of Program prior to enrolment.
The Property major is accredited by the Australian Property Institute (API). If you successfully complete this major within the program you will be eligible for Associate membership and Certified Property Practitioner (CPP) certification upon completion of a period of Approved Professional Experience. For more information, please refer to the Australian Property Institute website http://www.api.org.au/
Please note: a Certified Property Practitioner (CPP) is referred to by the API as a person involved in the property fields of sales, leasing and negotiation, research, education, law, consultancy, finance corporate real estate and government owned or controlled assets. Completion of this major will not provide you with the relevant qualification to be certified with the API as a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) nor will it make you eligible for registration with the Valuers Registration Board in Queensland (other states may vary, please refer to individual state bodies if residing outside of Queensland). If you wish to become registered valuers you should enrol in Bachelor of Property.
