A Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business at CQUniversity will equip you with the technical skills you need for a successful career in the accounting and business industries. It will also develop your generic skills-set, which will benefit both your personal and professional life.

Business underpins every sector of our economy and is fundamental to all industries. We rely on business for our jobs and prosperity. In today’s competitive employment market, tertiary education skills in business are in high demand.
There are no limitations to where a business degree can take you. Graduates choose from a broad spectrum of occupations including administration officer/manager, economics advisor, quality manager, accountant, human resources manager, marketing manager, logistics manager, hospitality manger, property professional, purchasing and materials manager – just to name a few. A business career offers diverse employment opportunities and the ability to advance from an entry-level position to supervisor, manager, consultant or senior executive within business, government or non-profit organisations in the industry of your choice.
Business graduates gain superior communication skills and have in-depth knowledge of their area of interest. They have transferable skills that allow them to work successfully in a number of professions within a variety of organisations.
A business degree can take you all over the world, both throughout your study and when seeking employment. Tertiary-qualified business graduates may be able to gain professional accreditation in a number of fields that allow them to work abroad. Why Study Business at CQUniversity
The Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business (Specialisation) dual degree enables you to graduate with both a Bachelor of Accounting and a Bachelor of Business (Specialisation) within four years of full-time study.
The dual degree approach allows you to further tailor your degree to suit your individual needs and study goals. By combining these two programs you will have the advantage of the specialist knowledge within accounting, as well as the diverse knowledge of general business studies. Within the accounting degree, you complete courses which cover content such as audit methodology and planning, tools and techniques financial managers use to maximise shareholder wealth, the application of accounting theory, and accounting standards and business law relevant to the financial records of Australian companies. The business degree enables you to specialise in human resources management, information systems, management, marketing, or procurement and supply.
The additional knowledge gained through the completion of dual degree programs gives you the skills which are highly sought after when seeking employment. This program also increases your employment opportunities in additional areas of accounting and business.

Program Structure
To satisfy the requirements for the award, you must complete 32 courses/192 units of credit which comply with the stated requirements.
You must complete:
- 8 compulsory core courses;
- 13 accounting technical specialist courses, as noted in the accounting course list;
- 1 Bachelor of Business major (8 courses)
- 3 electives from the Bachelor of Business majors or other approved business courses provided prerequisites and corequisites are met

Note: The first year of this program will be availalbe on-campus at all regional campuses. Professional Recognition
This program is accredited by the CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and meets the membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) - Restricted Member IPA status. However, these organisations accredit each campus individually, please check the current status of accreditation for their desired study location.

As a graduate of this program you may also be eligible to join the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants (ATMA) at the Member level and may be eligible to apply for registration with the Tax Agents Board provided you meet the Board's study and work experience requirements.

Depending on courses and majors selected, you may be eligible for membership with a number of national and international business-related professional associations.
- Marketing graduates may be eligible for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
- Management graduates may be eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Management.
- The Information Systems major is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). The ACS accredits each campus individually; therefore students should check the current status of accreditation for newly established locations.
