Master of Professional Accounting (Non Graduate Entry)

This two and a half-year (full-time) and five-year (part-time) master degree provides you with a transition from vocational study to higher education studies. This program is designed for those who have completed a two year post-Year 12 qualification, (equivalent to an Australian diploma) wishing to undertake further study in the area of accounting. If you have not completed university this program provides you with an opportunity to study a masters program and move into careers within the accounting and finance fields. This master degree requires an additional six months study in comparison to the Master of Professional Accounting. Within the non-graduate program you will study 14 core courses and two electives in the areas of accounting and finance. The additional courses studied ensures that you graduate with the equivalent skills and knowledge to a student who has completed prior tertiary study and the masters program.

You may exit either of these programs after a specific number of courses are completed with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Students must have completed:

• a two-year, post-Year 12 qualification recognised as being at least equivalent to an Australian diploma; or
• a qualification from an overseas institution or organisation assessed as being equivalent to the above by the professional bodies that accredit this program of study.

This program is accredited by the CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and meets the membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) (formerly National Institute of Accountants (NIA)) Retricted Member status.
