Master of Management (Marketing)

The Master of Management (Marketing) caters for students seeking specialist, postgraduate marketing, education and training which will provide them with excellent scope to operate as marketing professionals in today's global business environment. The program combines a comprehensive range of marketing management courses with opportunities to choose electives from other fields of interest.   Graduates boost their career options in middle or top management positions in industry, commerce or government in core areas of marketing. The program enhances the careers of marketing professionals and entrepreneurs, new product developers, product managers and advertising executives.

Within this program you will study one compulsory course in marketing management and five marketing-related courses covering fields such as global marketing, buyer behaviour, market research and Internet and electronic marketing. Courses within the Master of Management (Marketing) cover content such as techniques and strategies needed to incorporate the marketing concept into the framework of world markets, models and frameworks of consumer decision-making and the effects that various individuals and external influences may have on their actions and decisions.  You will also examine the promotional function and its role in an organisation's marketing program.

This program is offered both on-campus and  by distance education, either full-time or part-time, giving you the flexibility to balance study with your work and family commitments.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for the Master of Management (Marketing) include:

  • Two years current work experience, plus a bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or
  • An honours degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or
  • A CQUniversity GraduateDiploma of Management, or equivalent.

Program Structure

You must complete 9 courses (72 units of credit) to graduate with the Master of Management (Marketing).

These courses will include:

  • 1 compulsory course;
  • 5 marketing related courses (chosen from those listed for this program); and
  • 3 elective courses chosen from the Restricted Postgraduate Electives page, provided prerequisites have been met.
