A dual offer program provides you with access to commence your studies through the chosen diploma, with an alternate pathway into university. This pathway is ideal if you may not have qualified for immediate entry to university, you might not be sure, or ready, to begin university study or you would like to just get a taste of your future career.
A standard bachelor degree is usually a three year university program. Through the Diploma of Business/Bachelor of Accounting dual offer, CQIT graduates can now complete the Bachelor of Accounting in just two years* by receiving credit for their previous study. Plus you can save on the cost of university fees by first completing a diploma.
While studying the diploma programs at CQIT you will gain valuable practical experience, this coupled with the core theoretical skills learnt at CQUniversity ensures that you will graduate work ready and are highly sought after by prospective employers.

The Diploma of Accounting qualification focuses on skills required for management and administration of accounting functions, including preparation of income tax returns and legislative compliance, preparation of financial reports for reporting entities, internal control, budgeting and forecasting,.
The Bachelor of Accounting component will allow you to develop a range of skills in analysis, presentation and communication of organisational information, and find professional positions across areas such as computer auditing, taxation planning, management accounting, treasury, financial consulting and strategic management. The accounting degree prepares graduates for all of these fields and ensures that you graduate with good communication and technical skills.
CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Accounting is unique because it is a program in its own right, rather than a specialisation of an existing program. This enables you to gain in-depth knowledge and greater enhance your skill-set of accounting practices.

The Diploma of Accounting/Bachelor of Accounting not only offers students the opportunity to study a degree that is recognised by professional accounting bodies throughout Australia, but also allows students the flexibility to design a program of study that will best meet their individual career aspirations and take advantage of the rapidly changing career opportunities that exist in the modern business environment.

Students must have completed the Diploma of Accounting with the Certificate IV in Accounting embedded to be eligible for credit into the Bachelor of Accounting at CQUniversity.
CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Accounting program is highly respected among local accounting firms and our graduates have a high employment rate. In addition to local accounting firms, CQUniversity graduates are readily employed in Asia, the United Kingdom and Europe.

You are required to complete a total of 24 courses including four core courses, 12 core accounting technical specialist courses and may choose to specialise in Financial Planning or undertake the general accounting program.
The duration of the CQUni portion of the program is dependent on the specialisation chosen. Students completing the Financial Planning specialisation or wish to be eligible for registration with the Australian Tax Agents Board will be required to complete 2.5 years of study with CQUni.
Students of the CQIT Diploma of Accounting may be eligible for credit for up to 8 level one courses.
Duration of diploma of Accounting FNS50210 is one year external.

Completing a dual offer program application is easy. Dual offers allow you to apply for a CQIT Diploma and a university qualification at the same time (one QTAC application only). Upon successful completion of your TAFE studies you will be able to progress seamlessly into CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Accounting (with full credit for successful study).
This program is accredited by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and meets the membership requirements of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) - Restricted Member IPA status. However, these organisations accredit each campus individually, so students must check the current status of accreditation for their desired study location.

Graduates of this program may also be eligible to join the Association of Taxation and Management Accountants (ATMA) at the member level and may be eligible to apply for registration with the Tax Agents Board provided they meet the Board's study and work experience requirements.
Students who complete the financial planning specialisation of this program will also meet the Australian Securities and Investment Commission's RG146 training standard and may be eligible for membership of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
