Course Structure and Duration

This is a part time course consisting of two days per week (Thursday and Friday) of classroom attendance over 5 semesters (2.5 years). RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.  Some Units of Competence may not be available for RPL as individuals would not be able to undertake these duties/tasks unless they were currently accredited with an appropriate body and/or due to the accreditation requirements for this course with ANMAC.

Individuals are encouraged to ring HealthTrain to discuss their potential for RPL for unit of competence within this qualification.

Assessments

Assessment activities will be a combination of knowledge tests, written assignment, oral presentations and practical assessments.

The assessment for most units of competence links directly to the observation of an individual’s activities while on mandatory Clinical Placement activities.

There are 11 weeks of clinical placements required over the duration of the program. HealthTrain staff will identify, arrange and coordinate your Clinical Placement activities.
