Equity Technology Award

The Equity Technology Award will provide a laptop to assist students in accessing course specific technology.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the Equity Technology Award applicants must:

• be in receipt of a Centrelink benefit or can demonstrate low personal/family income;

• have difficulty in accessing and/or affording a computer in order to undertake their program of study;
• have at least one year academic study load remaining;
• not have been successful with an Equity Technology Award in previous years;
• be a Commonwealth supported student in an undergraduate program at CQUniversity and
  
• be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or holder of a Humanitarian Visa

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on demonstrated need in relation to the eligibility criteria. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate successful academic progress.

Additional Information

Students are able to request a review of the decision made by the selection panel - please refer to the Review Process for Equity Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program document for more information.

• The Student Support Centre will issue a CQUniversity Bookshop voucher to purchase the laptop computer.
• The laptop computer can be collected in person from the Rockhampton CQUniversity Bookshop or delivered to your postal address

On receipt of the laptop computer, the student will assume full ownership and responsibility for the computer.

How do I apply?

To apply for the Equity Technology Award:

1. Read the Scholarship Guidelines
2. Complete a Scholarship Application Form
3. Ensure all supporting documentation is completed and attached as outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines and Application Form
4. Submit your Scholarship Application to the Student Support Centre by the closing date – refer to the Scholarship Application Form for submission options

Please Note: Complete Applications must be received at the Student Support Centre, Scholarships Office by the closing date.

How will I know the outcome of my application?

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from CQUniversity will meet to determine the successful applicant. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel sits.
