CQUniversity's Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Scholarship

CQUniversity’s Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship recognises and regards high achieving students who achieve an OP1 or OP2 or OP3 or equivalent selection rank. We offer successful applicants the chance to study their degree at CQUniversity and be rewarded by the University covering the cost of tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to receive this scholarship an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Achieved an OP1 or OP2 or OP3 or equivalent ranking
  • Have completed Grade 12 in 2012
  • Commencing full-time study in an undergraduate degree at CQUniversity commencing in Term 1 of the academic year.
  • Have not undertaken any previous tertiary study other than that completed as part of year 11 or 12 studies.
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or holder of a Humanitarian Visa

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on the scholarship eligibility criteria and the strength of their personal statement which should include information on your:

  • Career Aspirations and/or
  • Community involvement while at school (supporting documentation required)

Terms and Conditions of Scholarship

Successful Scholarship recipients:

  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress , i.e. passing all courses of study at the first attempt and maintaining a minimum GPA of 4.0
  • Must attend the agreed course of study in accordance with University requirements
  • Must remain enrolled as a full-time student in the Program of study for which the scholarship was awarded
  • May only be awarded one CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
  • Are also encouraged to participate in the Student Ambassador Program where possible, which involves casual paid work. The Student Ambassador Coordinator will be in contact with you to discuss this in further detail.

Students are required to notify the Student Support Centre if there are any changes in their circumstances which impact on the above terms and conditions. Should a student not continue to meet the above terms and conditions the scholarship will become invalid, unless at the University’s discretion extenuating circumstances are considered.

Scholarship recipients are not able to defer their scholarship.

Payment of Scholarship

Successful recipients can select one of the following two payment options:

  1. Full tuition fees will be paid for by the University on behalf of the student for the duration of your program; or
  2. The equivalent dollar value of full tuition fees will be paid directly to the student (after Census dates in each term) via electronic funds transfer for the duration of your program

How do I apply?

To apply for the CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Scholarship:

  1. Read the Scholarship Guidelines
  2. Complete a Scholarship Application Form
  3.  Ensure all  supporting documentation is completed and attached as outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines
  4. Submit your Scholarship Application to the Student Support Centre by the closing date – refer to the Scholarship Application Form for submission options

Please Note: Complete Applications must be received at the Student Support Centre, Scholarships Office by the closing date.

How will I know the outcome of my application?

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from CQUniversity will meet to short list applicants. The Vice-Chancellor will have final approval of the successful applicant. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel sits.
