CQUniversity Arts, Business, Informatics & Education Placement Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to low income CQUniversity students undertaking a program which requires more than two weeks of professional placement or residential school attendance. This Scholarship will assist to meet some of the additional costs incurred when undertaking compulsory work placements or compulsory residential schools as part of an academic program within the Arts, Business, Informatics and Education disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to receive a CQUniversity Arts, Business, Informatics and Education Undergraduate Scholarship students must meet the below criteria:

  • Be undertaking an unpaid work placement longer than two weeks or attending compulsory residential school in terms 1, 2 or 3 of 2013
  • Demonstrate that they will incur additional expenses as a result of undertaking the professional placement/residential school;*
  • Must be in receipt of a Centrelink benefit or can demonstrate low personal/family income;*
  • Be a commonwealth supported student;
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia

 

* Applicants are required to provide supporting documentation to verify their additional expenses and low personal/family income

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on an application form, Curriculum Vitae and supporting documentation providing:

  • Evidence of recent academic achievements (such as Senior Certificate, TAFE studies, EMB Music Exams, First Aid Certificate, sports coach training, student exchanges, academic prizes or other educational achievements. Note copies of non CQUni academic results must be certified.
  • Two references from Teachers, employers or representatives of community groups that you are currently or have recently been involved with.
  • A written submission addressing the following criteria:
  • An outline of your career ambitions and motivation in relation to your career path. Briefly explain why you have chosen to study at CQUniversity and  how you believe your experience or achievements may assist or prepare you for your future studies and professional career (limited to 250 words)
  • Recent leadership and community activities (these should include details of any leadership roles that you have undertaken at school or in the general community, together with details of your involvement in any school or community activities outside your academic studies)

Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship

Successful scholarship recipients:

  • Must be enrolled at Census date of the term for which the scholarship was awarded
  • May only be awarded one CQUniversity Arts, Business, Informatics and Education Scholarship per year
  • Are not permitted to receive any other scholarship offered through CQUniversity

Payment of the Scholarship

Payment of the scholarship will be made via electronic funds transfer as soon as possible after final enrolment checks at Census date of the relevant term.

How do I apply?

To apply for the CQUni Arts, Business, Informatics & Education Scholarship:

  1. Read the Scholarship Guidelines
  2. Complete a Scholarship Application Form
  3. Ensure all  supporting documentation is completed and attached as outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines
  4. Submit your Scholarship Application to the Student Support Centre by the closing date – refer to the Scholarship Application Form for submission options

Please Note: Complete Applications must be received at the Student Support Centre, Scholarships Office by the closing date.

How will I know the outcome of my application?

A selection panel, consisting of CQUniversity representatives will meet to determine the successful applicants. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel sits.
