The CQUniCares Residential & Placement Initiative (Postgraduate) assists CQUniversity low income postgraduate students to meet some of the additional costs they will incur to attend compulsory residential schools or placement as part of their academic program. Students must be studying a Commonwealth Supported Postgraduate program (see Eligibility Requirements for further details) and demonstrate that they will incur costs in excess of $500 to attend their required residential school or placement.

To be eligible for the CQUniCares Residential and Placement Initiative (Postgraduate), a student must:
• be in receipt of a Centrelink Benefit or can demonstrate low personal/family income;
• be attending a compulsory residential school or placement as part of their CQUniversity program for the term in which they are applying for the scholarship;
• demonstrate that the additional costs incurred as a result of attending the compulsory residential school will result in financial hardship and are in excess of $500 in total;
• be a Commonwealth supported postgraduate student at CQUniversity and therefore be enrolled in one of the following programs:
o CB92 GC Education (Early Childhood Plan Only)
o CG17 M Clinical Psychology
o CG68 GC Tertiary Education
o CG28 M Professional Accounting
o CG33 GD Midwifery
o CU87 GD Psychological Science
o CV09 GD Learning & Teaching
o CV13 GD Psychology
• be a student with a permanent home address in Australia who is either an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a student with an Australian permanent visa.
• Successful applicants must be enrolled in one of the CQUniversity post graduate programs listed in Eligibility Requirements and have added a course/s that has a compulsory residential school or placement by Week 1of the start of Term 2, 2013.
Applicants will be assessed on:
· their ability to demonstrate low personal/family income;
· the degree of financial hardship that will be experienced as a result of the additional costs incurred to attend a compulsory residential school;
· the costs incurred to attend a compulsory residential school or placement ( in excess of $500 in total); and
· the impact that attendance at the residential school or placement will have on their capacity to earn income during that period.
The CQUniCares Residential & Placement Initiative (Postgraduate) is a financial supplement and is not intended to cover all of the costs associated with attending your residential school or placement.
Payment of Scholarship
Successful applicants may not receive payment until after their Residential School or Placement for Term 2 (if Residential School/Placement is held prior to Week 4).

A selection panel will meet to determine the successful applicants. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel meets. As there is a limited allocation of CQUniCares Residential and Placement Initiative (Postgraduate) supplements available, the decision regarding successful applications will be final.
