The program will provide two academic scholarships to support Indigenous students throughout their academic program, enabling them to complete their studies without financial burden. Scholarship funds will assist students to have access to the resources needed to complete their academic program, from stationery to textbooks to internet access and IT requirements.

Each applicant will be assessed on an application form, their ability to meet the eligibility criteria (supporting documentation will need to be submitted with the application) and a (500 words or less) written submission on the following criteria;

Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship
Successful applicants are required to:
Termination of the scholarship will occur if the Terms and Conditions of the scholarship are not met.
*Scholarship Recipients who fail some or all of their courses will only be considered for continuation of scholarship, if they can demonstrate a strong desire to continue their academic program and adhere to the recommended course of action as suggested by the CQUniversity’s Student Support Centre. CQUniversity assesses all students according to set criteria and will follow formal Monitoring Academic Progress (MAP) procedures to ensure students who are at risk of making unsatisfactory academic progress are identified and assisted at an early stage.
(Note: Support is available from the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program and the Academic Learning Centre, and students will be encouraged to use this service throughout their program). Scholarship recipients should apply in writing to request continuation of scholarship to the Scholarship panel should they fail to maintain satisfactory progress.
Payment of the Scholarship
Payment of the scholarship will be made via electronic funds transfer as soon possible after final enrolment checks at Census date in Terms 1 and 2.
The $5000 scholarship per term is comprised of the following:
Study Resources
CQUni Bookshop accounts will be established for successful applicants at the Rockhampton Campus, providing an account where students can charge academic expenses for all their stationery and textbooks. The CQUniversity Bookshop owns and operates an Australia Post Office, and can order any items directly from Australia Post or Corporate Express.
The student account will have a limit specified per term or year, and will be restricted to the purchase of stationery and textbooks.
All items can be delivered anywhere in Australia or collected from the nearest CQUniversity Bookshop.
Financial Assistance
The financial assistance component of the scholarship will be paid via electronic funds transfer into the successful recipient’s nominated bank account as soon possible after final enrolment checks at Census date each term.

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from Arrow Energy and CQUniversity will be formed to determine the successful applicant in each instance. A scholarship will only be offered where there is an applicant of sufficient merit. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel sits.
