BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance Undergraduate Scholarship Program

BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) to encourage enrolments in Higher Education by students who reside in BMA’s communities of interest; Moranbah, Emerald/Capella, Dysart and Blackwater.

The BMA Scholarship Program provides funding to students in the regional areas in which BMA operates, to encourage enrolment at CQUniversity’s Central Queensland campuses in areas of study that can influence skills shortages in the region and are unrelated to mining disciplines.  Key areas of interest are medical and nursing careers, allied health, business and education.  

The program incorporates community and Indigenous scholarships.

About the Community Scholarship Program

The Community Scholarship program offers TEN new scholarships each year valued at $5000 per year for the duration of the academic program (up to four years).

The program’s aim is to increase enrolments from people who identify themselves as;  female, having a disability, low socio economic status, rural and remote and other minority groups that are not well represented in tertiary education, to help promote knowledge, education links and develop the skills of local people so they can contribute to development in their home communities. 

About the Indigenous Scholarship Program

The BMA Indigenous Scholarship Program provides FIVE new scholarships each year valued at $5000 per year for the duration of the academic program (up to four years).

The Scholarship provides financial support to Indigenous students in the regional areas in which BMA operates and to students who identify as belonging to one of the recognised Indigenous Traditional Owner groups within BMA’s footprint.

The Scholarship aims to encourage enrolment at CQUniversity in areas of study that can influence skills shortages in the regions and are unrelated to mining disciplines; key areas of interest are medical and nursing careers, allied health, business and education.

How do I apply?

Each applicant will be assessed on an application form, their ability to meet the eligibility criteria (supporting documentation will need to be submitted with the application) and a written submission on the following criteria (500 words or less);

“How my intended area of study will address the needs of Central Highlands, Isaac areas upon completion of the program.”
