WHAT: Aviation School Visits
WHEN: May & June 2012

CQUniversity Australia invites your school to participate in an Aviation Career presentation to be hosted at your school. Former US Operations superintendent technician and current CQUniversity Head of Program for Aviation, Ron Bishop brings to life his love of aviation in these hands on presentations.

Along with discussing his own experiences, Ron talks about study and career opportunities in aviation available to high school students, as well as our suite of Aviation degrees; Diploma of Aviation Theory, Associate Degree in Aviation and Bachelor of Aviation Technology. Plus, your students will hear from and meet current aviation students studying at CQUniversity.

WHAT: ICAA Accounting School Visits
WHEN: Tuesday 1 May (Bundaberg), Thursday 3 May (Rockhampton) and Tuesday 15 May (Gladstone)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants will host tours and events at our campuses where students will have a unique opportunity to learn more about a career in accounting directly from professionals in the industry and, find out more about our Accounting degrees such as the Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Financial Planning.

WHAT: Business Challenge

The business challenge is a competition for business-orientated Year 12 students with skills in a range of areas including accounting, business, information technology, legal studies, general business studies and general knowledge. WHAT: EyeTrack Australia 2012 Conference
WHEN: 31st May-1st June
WHERE: CQUniversity Noosa 

EyeTrack Australia 2012 is the first Australasian conference devoted exclusively to cross-disciplinary eye movement research. By bringing together leading researchers from academia and industry, this conference will support collaboration and knowledge building both within the Australasian eye-tracking sector and the larger global community.  This conference is peer-reviewed with outstanding papers to be selected for publication in book format. A number of national and international scholars using eye-tracking and user experience methodologies will present cutting edge keynote presentations.

Co-sponsored by CQUniversity Australia and Objective Eye Tracking.

JUNE

WHAT: GeCon Junior Delegate program
WHEN: 14 June 2012

The Graduating Engineers Conference (GeCon) Junior Delegate Program will be an opportunity for year 12 students who may be considering a career in engineering to attend the morning session of CQUniversity's Graduating Engineers Conference. During the conference junior delegates will have the chance to view presentations on civil, electrical and mechanical engineering projects, meet the Engineering academic team and talk with key industry stakeholders.

WHAT: CQ Engineering Link Project
WHEN: 26 June 2012 – 28 June 2012

COST: $185 (includes accommodation, meals and project materials) or $110 (includes lunch and project materials only)

The Central Queensland Engineering Link Project is a three-day program for year 11 & 12 students who are considering a career in engineering. The program includes a range of hands-on activities, workshops and talks from industry representatives and CQUniversity Engineers.

WHAT: The Science Experience

The Science Experience is designed for students in year 9 and 10 to come on-campus and experience a three day program incorporating science, health and engineering related activities, presentations and workshops.

The Science Camp will be an opportunity for year 12 science students to meet like minded students from outside their own school, get a taste for university life, learn from the scientists at CQUniversity, participate in lots of fun science activities and explore a wide range of career options in science, health and Engineering.

JULY

WHAT: CQUniversity Schools Jazz Festival - NEW
WHEN: Tuesday 28 July – 29 July 2012
WHERE: CQUniversity Rockhampton

CQUniversity is delighted to present to you the first a Schools Jazz Festival, presented by the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music and Yamaha Music Australia. Leaders in the field including Jeff Jarvis from the USA, and John Morrison from Sydney will be joining the event as official festival adjudicators/clinicians. All participating bands will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills in  a one hour clinic and an adjudicated performance with each band director  receiving mentoring from professionals to support the band’s development.  After the workshops and mentoring the bands will get to show off their sounds by performing in a finale concert.
