I am a plant population ecologist with a special interest in ecological applications in production systems such as forestry and agriculture. I apply my knowledge and skills in soil science, ecological modelling and geostatistics to a variety of industry problems, such as management of invasive native plant invasions in semi-arid rangelands and soil acidification and structural decline in horticultural systems. I have a ten year skill set in environmental management and agricultural extension, derived from positions at all levels of government, private industry and academia over this period.

I have a particular interest in both scientific and societal problems facing rural and regional Australia. As an academic and tertiary educator at CQUniversity, I implement research-informed and 'real-life' scenarios in my courses, with the aim of bringing science to students, no matter what their circumstances or location. It is my belief that no one is too old, too young or too foolish to learn about the world around them, so feel free to step into my classroom any time to discover science!
