    Cathy O'Mullan has worked as a health promotion practitioner for over 20 years both here in Australia and in the UK. She has managed diverse programs within a number of government and non-government organisations across areas such as chronic disease, cancer, mental health and sexual health. Over the past 10 years, Cathy has specialised  in the area of sexual health and is now completing her doctoral studies in this field. 

    Cathy has worked as a casual academic at CQUniversity since 2000, and was appointed to a permanent full time academic appointment in 2010.

    in Drought Affected Communities

    2007 - 2009   Strategy Co ordinator - HIV, Hepatitis and Sexual Health Promotion, Queensland Health. Coordination and evaluation of public health programs across 3 health service districts (Cairns, Cape York and Torres Strait)

    2001 - 2007  Health Promotion Co ordinator (Sexual Health), Family Planning Queensland. Co ordination of sexuality based health promotion projects including youth, disability and early childhood programs.

    1996 - 2000  Prevention & Early Detection Co ordinator, Queensland Cancer Fund. Responsible for planning and delivery of cancer prevention and early detection programs including skin, breast, prostate cancer.

    1992 - 1996  Health Promotion Officer, National Health Service, UK. Co ordination of health promotion programs aimed at reducing chronic disease (physical activity, nutrition, alcohol) within workplace and primary care settings.
