    Wendy Hillman is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at CQUniversity Australia in Rockhampton. She researches in the areas of gendered travel, backpacking, independent travel,treking, tours of non-arrival and emotional events that have led to survival escapist travel. Wendy is also currently working on research in Nepal on the gender empowerment of women on an AusAID funded project.
