Ian joined CQU in 2009 moving from industry into academic teaching.
He has been a registered valuer since 1989 and is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer.
Throughout his career he has completed a wide variety of market and mortgage security valuations specializing in the commercial, retail, industrial, residential and rural residential fields whilst maintaining an interest in rural valuations. Ian moved to Central Queensland after selling his valuation practice. Previous to arriving in Central Queensland, he worked throughout a large section of South-east Queensland with 13 years in Gympie, the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay regions in his own practice and then as a Regional Manager for Alex J Saunders Valuations. Ian has worked in Brisbane conducting mortgage valuations whilst earlier I was with the Department of the Valuer-General in Warwick and the eastern Darling Downs, Goondiwindi and Stanthorpe regions. He has provided valuations for the Land Court, Family Law Court, District Court and Supreme Court for use in litigation matters.
