    Background

Dr Vandelanotte completed all his studies in Physical Education (Bachelor, 1997;  Masters, 1999; and PhD, 2004) at the Ghent University in Belgium. His Phd was on the development and evaluation of a computerized and individualized intervention for increasing physical activity and decreasing fat intake, and was supervised by Prof Dr Ilse De Bourdeaudhuij. In 2005, Dr Vandelanotte move to Brisbane, Australia and worked at the Cancer Prevention Research Centre (University of Queensland) under the supervision of Prof Neville Owen and Prof Elisabeth Eakin. In 2009, Dr Vandelanotte moved to the Central Queensland University and became the Director of the Centre for Physical Activity Studies in 2010 and Graduate Research Coordinator for the Institute of Health and Social Science Research in 2012. Dr Vandelanotte's research has a population-based approach to health behaviour change and is focussed on the development and evaluation of website-delivered and/or computer-tailored physical activity interventions.
