Systems connected by communications networks have become pervasive in modern society. Examples include industrial control systems, power distribution networks, telephone networks, cable TV networks, cellular phone networks and, most visibly, the Internet. Research in networked systems is inherently interdisciplinary, having to address the combination of software, hardware, and communications as well as application-specific issues pertaining to the domain of application. The primary research focus of this group is networked control systems, network security and their applications.Funding for the groups activities has been provided through ARC Discovery (2009 and 2010), ARC Linkage (2010) and through internal CQU Funding (RAAS Grants, Merit Grants and Seed Grants).
