About SIGs

The Learning & Teaching Education Research Centre (LTERC) provides the opportunity for research colleagues to come together within Special Interest Groups (SIGs).  Depending on research interests and activities, members may belong to one or multiple SIGs.

How to join a SIG?
Joining a SIG brings with it certain responsbilities of active involvement and commitment to achieve the goals, objectives and action plans of the SIG.  Simply contact the SIG Convenor (their email address is provided at the SIG Listing and each SIG Homepage) to express your interest.

Responsibilities of a SIG

All activities of the SIG must align with CQUniversity's policies, standards, and guidelines.  It is to be a forum which will:
  • provide coordinated and focussed intellectual/scholarly/research activities
  • facilitate discussion and collaboration leading to research focused outcomes
  • deliver at least one presentation per annum for the LTERC/L&T Seminar Series
  • provide a progress report to the LTERC Director at least twice per annum - March and September
  • advise LTERC management when the SIG is no longer active

What LTERC can offer?  The Research Centre will:

  • provide linkages with external stakeholders, research providers and experienced active researchers
  • provide a collegial environment necessary to maximise research productivity
  • provide advice, direction and assistance in research activities, collaborations and projects, including resources and technologies
  • provide the platform of the LTERC Seminar Series to disseminate information about your research
  • provide the administration of a SIG web page, and assistance with sub-sites as required

SIG Assist - this web page offers services, suggestions and ideas for SIGs and SIG Convenors on various strategies that might be incorporated and helpful in the running of their SIGs, in particular to facilitate communication channels and information dissemination.
