R&D Initiatives

The following list of activities constitutes ‘Research and Development' initiatives aligned with or supported by LTERC and potentially with other Institutes and/or Centres as the projects evolve into maturity. They are presented in alphabetical name order of each initiative.

  • "Course curriculum revitalisation: An Action Research Project" being undertaken by Ms Louise Hawkins and her Knowledge Management course tutors with mentor A/Prof Bobby Harreveld.
  • "Indicators of quality: A comparison study into LMS user behaviour at CQUniversity" Project with Mr Ken Clark (FABIE) and Mr Colin Beer (CCDU). This successful internal CQU Learning and Teaching Grant is being supported through LTERC to enhance the research capabilities of the staff involved and to develop the project towards an external grant application in the future. 
  • Quality Teaching Initiation - preparation for AUQA 2010. Discussions with A/Prof Peter Reaburn regarding "Communities of Practice" initiative and its potential synergies with LTERC's Special Interest Groups. A joint presentation to go to VCAC on 28 September 2009.
  • Research Advancement Award Scheme (RAAS) grant successful by Dr Wendy Davis, "The Television Mockumentary: A Comparative Study of its Past, Present and Future". Advice and support provided through LTERC.
  • "To Moodle or not to Moodle: the effect of social influence as a course developer aligns to the 7 principles of good practice" - a Seed Grant application by Ms Melanie Chin, Ms Marilyn Wells & mentor, Dr Marilyn Fisher.
