EyeTrack Australia Conference 2013

and

ETA 2013 Symposium on Eye Tracking with Children

Conference Theme: The Evolving Art and Science of Eye Tracking. As eye movement research is being used in increasingly novel ways, conceptions of research quality (including rigour and validity) are also being continually questioned and expanded. Participants at this 2nd annual EyeTrack Australia conference are welcome to present papers exploring current and future research trends, research projects at various stages of development, and innovative applications for eye tracking research methods and methodologies. The conference will also include opportunities for training and learning to use multiple eye tracking platforms; and a special symposium on eye tracking with children. 

The following publication types will be accepted:

  1. Full papers (7 – 20 pages)
  2. Works in Progress papers (4 – 6 pages)

All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings. Some full papers will be considered for publication in a stand alone book on trends in eye tracking research. Selected publications from the 2012 conference are to be published in 2013 by Springer as Current Trends in Eye Tracking Research.

Conference Venue

ETA 2013 will be held at the Australis Noosa Lakes Resort in Noosaville, Queensland, on Australia's Sunshine Coast.

ETA 2013 Symposium on Eye Tracking with Children

The 2013 conference will host a special symposium on the challenges and opportunities inherent in conducting eye tracking research with children. Both full and works-in-progress papers are welcome in this area. 

General Areas of Interest

  • Eye Tracking and New Media. Research projects engaging new media uses ranging from portable devices to video and 3D contexts.
  • Cooperation and Collaboration. Lessons learned in conducting eye movement research across multiple institutions, settings, and disciplines.
  • Technological Advances. Innovative uses of existing technology as well as pioneering implementation of new technology in a range of research contexts and disciplines.
  • Eye Tracking Methodologies, Methods, and Applications. Reports of research projects from a range of disciplines.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation. Key challenges and important discoveries in moving from raw data to findings.
  • Building and Maintaining Research Trajectories. Challenges and opportunities related to situating individual research efforts in a larger research context.
