Facilities and Equipment Access Program

Would access to advanced facilities or equipment benefit your research?

Do you want exposure to novel or specialised research approaches?

The HEALTH CRN partner universities offer health-related researchers an opportunity to explore new research horizons by:

Lab

  • expanding research capacity
  • opening access to advanced facilities and equipment
  • expanding personal and professional networks
  • stimulating collaborative research opportunities

Who can participate?

Participation is open to all health-related researchers from partner universities.

The HEALTH CRN partner universities include:

  • CQUniversity Australia
  • Curtin University
  • Queensland University of Technology
  • The University of Queensland.

Up to six successful applicants per year may be funded.

From CQUniversity, three successful applicants will undertake a visit at one of the other partner universities and one successful applicant from each of the other partner universities will be invited to CQUniversity. Depending on the study design, this may be a one-off visit of one month or a series of shorter visits.

How does it work?

The HEALTH CRN is supported through the Australian Government’s Collaborative Research Networks (CRN) Program.

The HEALTH CRN ’s Facilities and Equipment Access Program is funded to help researchers extend their research capacity by facilitating access to specialist research facilities and equipment from within the network of HEALTH CRN partner universities.

It is expected that by using the Facilities and Equipment Access Program successful applicants are able to enhance their research capacity with resources, technology or skills not otherwise available at their home institution.

The cross-institutional visits aim to provide researchers with experiences and opportunities to develop further collaborative research. Researchers are expected to co-author publications and grant proposals, and participate in training and career development opportunities.
