Research Funding - Applying

All research grant applications to external grant agencies must be submitted via the University's Office of Research.

Research Activity Cover Sheet

For each external research income activity (competitive grant application or contract research proposal) a Research Activity Cover Sheet and RAC Budget Worksheet must be completed, and submitted to the Office of Research with a full copy of the application.

Internal Closing Date

The INTERNAL CLOSING DATE for various schemes may be found on the Funding Opportunities Calendar. Unless an alternative date is nominated, the internal closing date will be 5 - 10 days before the date that applications must be received by the Funding Agency.
This earlier closing date allows time for the Office of Research to proof-read your application and check for consistency with scheme guidelines and University policies, to obtain University sign-off on applications where required, and to prepare the requisite number of application copies into the required submission format before despatching to the Funding Agency.

Late Applications

Researchers who do not submit their application to the Office of Research by the internal closing date will be required to finalise, arrange sign-off for, and despatch their application to the Funding Agency. A copy of their submitted application and Research Activity Cover sheet must be sent to the Office of Research for data collection.
