Holiday Reading 
As usual we start off our year sharing what we have read over the holidays.

Autobiography/Biography

Orange Prize 2008
The Orange Prize was established to promote writing by women.  For this month's meeting read the winner in 2008 or, one or more, of the shortlisted books:

Thea Astley 
Australian writer, born 1925 in Queensland, where many of her books are set and died in 2004.  In 2000 she won the Miles Franklin Award for a record fourth time (Tim Winton equalled this record in 2009) and had also won many other literary awards.
