You are welcome to become a reciprocal borrower at any of our CQUniversity campus libraries provided your home University is a partner to the University Libraries Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) Borrowing Scheme. Borrowers will be enrolled to 28th February of the following year and will need to renew membership in subsequent years. Please note that Open Universities Australia is not part of the scheme.
There is no charge to register but evidence of current enrolment/employment must be provided. This can be either:
Reciprocal borrowers are entitled to an unlimited number of loans which can be made up of items from the Monograph and Curriculum Material Collections. A borrower may borrow from the library under the following conditions:
The onus for return or renewal by the due date rests with the borrower. The library endeavours to send an overdue notice for overdue items, but has no obligation to do so. Borrowers are advised not to return material via a third person.
Penalty points accrue on overdue items at the rate of 20 points per day. A $20 reinstatement fee will apply when penalty points reach 2000. A student becomes ineligible (i.e. denied borrowing privileges) if:
The Library reserves the right to recall high demand items and place on short-term loan. For every three days a recall request is ignored, a fee of $20 will apply, up to a limit of $60. After three recall requests, the Library will charge the borrower the standard replacement fee of $112.45 and a processing fee of $11.00. These charges are non-refundable.
All Library users are responsible for the material they borrow. The Library may declare an item lost if the item is six weeks overdue. Should an item be lost, long overdue, or damaged, the borrower is required to pay a standard replacement fee of $112.45 and an administrative charge of $11.00 to cover the cost of processing. In lieu of paying the replacement cost, the library will accept an exact copy of the item or a later edition however, the processing fee will apply. Long overdue items may also accrue a reinstatement fee. The Library will reverse the replacement cost if the item is returned in good condition within twelve months of the due date. Recalled items are excluded.
Any person detected at the security gate with library material which is defaced or has not been loaned in accordance with the library's borrowing procedures is liable for disciplinary action.
