Distance students who live more than 50 kilometres from a CQUniversity campus library are entitled to a postal service. An extra week is allowed for postage. The Library will pay postal charges to send material but it is the responsibility of the borrower to pay return costs. Alternatively, distance students my request and / or return their books, in person, at any CQUniversity campus. Staff hours at Noosa are limited and distance students using the service at that location will be provided with a pre-paid post bag and address label.
Undergraduate distance students and Postgraduate distance students who live within 50 kilometres of a Central Queensland campus library must use their campus library.

Education students undertaking Embedded Professional Learning (EPL) may borrow for the duration of these courses. Only Curriculum Material items can be borrowed under this arrangement. Students must notify library staff that the CM items are required for the duration of the EPL or normal lending regulations will apply.
*Short term loans will be checked out for 14 days. Penalties for late renewal or late return accrue at 200 points per day.

Distance students are entitled to an unlimited number of loans which can be made up of tems from the Monograph, Music, Curriculum Materials and Journal Collections.
Items posted to distance students are due for return or renewal by the due date. Loans can be renewed unless the item is requested by another borrower or you are blocked from borrowing. Books or other items in the Reference Collection or on Reserve are not available for loan.
Any item on loan to a student may be recalled when the necessity arises in the judgement of the Director, DLS or their representative. Failure to comply with a request to return an item by a specified date will result in a $20.00 charge being posted to the student account in the University Finance system every three days the item remains overdue up to a limit of $80.00. At this time the borrower will be invoiced for the standard replacement cost and a processing fee. These charges are non-refundable and students will be ineligible to borrow until all charges are paid.
The Library endeavours to send a notice if an item is overdue but has no obligation to do so. All notices and communications from the library will be forwarded to the official university email address. The responsibility for checking email and returning or renewing material by the due date rests with the borrower.
Students are advised not to return material via a third person, as the borrower is liable for the safe return of the material. Students should not re-lend borrowed material to another person.

The Library may declare an item lost if the item is 42 days overdue. Lost or damaged items must be paid for at the standard replacement charge plus a processing fee. In lieu of the replacement cost, the library will accept an exact copy of the item or a later edition. The borrower is liable for the processing fee even if the item is returned or replaced. A reinstatement fee may also apply.
