Curriculum Materials Collection

This is a special collection to provide teaching resource support for Education students, to serve in the preparation of classroom lessons or to be used during lessons by the teacher or students. Materials include syllabuses and guidelines, blackline masters, kits and games, pictures, fiction (K-12), school texts and workbooks, "Big Books" (fiction and non-fiction), examples of lesson plans, and audio-visual resources.

Borrowing Regulations

All CM resources may be borrowed.  Students undertaking their Portal Task Experience can also borrow additional items from the CM collection for the duration of the Experience.

To find CM resources, go to the Library Catalogue and select Curriculum Materials (CM):

Locations within the CM Collection

All CM resources in the Library Catalogue show the location as CM. Because the resources vary in size and format, there are a number of different sections within the CM room.

Physical locations noted here are for the Rockhampton campus library - check with your regional campus librarian if necessary.

Main Collection: This collection consists of books, kit boxes, videos and cassettes, shelved in Dewey Classification like the rest of the library.  Sample items appear below:

CMPF Posters: Laminated posters are available for loan and are hung in numerical (not subject) order. Sample items appear below:

Picture Packs: These are very large folders and boxes containing illustrative material or stimulus pictures on a variety of topics.  Sample items appear below:

Hanging Rail: These are items in several parts such as a large book with a teacher's guide.  Sample items appear below:

Big Books: These are very large story books for young children, stored in large plastic bags, sometimes with teacher's guides.   A sample item appears below:

CM Projects: These materials have been produced by Education students for 'learners with special needs' and are designed for classroom use.
