Regional Collections

Capricornia CQ Collection

The Capricornia Central Queensland Collection, more commonly known as the CQ Collection, contains resources that relate to the Central Queensland region. The collection maintains historical and recent material in a variety of formats. It is housed in the Rockhampton Library.

Mackay Library Regional Collection

The Mackay Library Regional Collection consists of material acquired by purchase or donation that deals with some aspect of the Mackay and surrounding region including the Pioneer Valley, Whitsundays, and the Hinterland.

The Mackay Library Regional Collection can only be used within the library during opening hours, but it is available for anyone interested in researching the region, not just staff and students of the university.

Port Curtis Environmental Collection 

The Port Curtis Environmental Collection is available for use in the Gladstone Campus Library and can be accessed by all CQUniversity staff and students. Other interested parties in the collection are research staff and postgraduate students attached to the Centre for Environmental Management and interested stakeholders from business and industry in the Port Curtis and Gladstone Harbour regions and interested general public.

Bundaberg Library Regional Collection 

The Bundaberg Campus Library endeavours to collect material of relevance to the Wide Bay-Burnett region. The region is bounded by the towns of Agnes Water, Monto, Eidsvoldt, Kingaroy, Gympie and Fraser Island.

The collection consists of material by and about local authors, material related to the history of the Wide Bay Burnett region, material related to the unique nature of this area in relation to Queensland and Australia, material related to this region that is of importance to the region's economy. It also includes material relating to the region that is of importance to the region's social structure, publications by and about local indigenous and Torres Strait Islander groups and material of a local nature that relate to courses and programs studied at CQUniversity Bundaberg.

ACQUIRE

ACQUIRE is a digital repository designed to enhance CQUniversity's research.

Course Resources Online

Course Resources Online is a collection of digitized copyright journal articles and / or book chapters where there are insufficient hard copy / print versions available to meet the anticipated demand by on-campus or external students.

Curriculum Materials (CM) Collection 

This is a special collection to provide teaching resource support for Education students, to serve in the preparation of classroom lessons or to be used during lessons by the teacher or students. Materials include syllabuses and guidelines, blackline masters, kits and games, pictures, fiction (K-12), school texts and workbooks, "Big Books" (fiction and non-fiction), examples of lesson plans, and audio-visual resources.

Music and Theatre

The Performing Arts collection consists of drama (acting), dance and music-related books, and eclectic music resources in several formats. The music resources consist of scores  (including orchestral, miniature, choral, big band), CDs, and DVDs, which support the courses offered by the School of Creative and Performing Arts.  The Performing Arts collection consisting of Musical theatre, Drama (Acting) and
Dance  is located at the Mackay Campus Library. A comprehensive Classical music collection is also held in Mackay. The Jazz and Contemporary (including Rock) music collection is located at the Rockhampton campus library.  Resources to support Creative Music Technology courses are located in the Rockhampton library.

In support of all Performing Arts and music courses,  the collections float between the Rockhampton and Mackay campus libraries and can also be borrowed by Noosa and distance students. Music and Theatre Resources can be found using the Library Catalogue.
