What is ACQUIRE?

ACQUIRE is a digital repository designed to provide free access to CQUniversity's research output.

Repository records are freely available via the Internet. Where permitted, links to the full-text of the publication or to other forms of research output are also available.

What are the benefits for authors?

  • a means to safely store and share research
  • a method of generating a comprehensive publishing record
  • increased exposure of publications to Google and other search engines
  • wider dissemination of work and increased chances of citation

Research has demonstrated that open access online articles have appreciably higher citation rates than traditionally published articles (Open Citation project, 2005, The effect of open access and downloads ('hits') on citation impact: a bibliography of studies, viewed 20th Feburary 2006. http://opcit.eprints.org/oacitation-biblio.html )

What are the benefits for CQUniversity?

  • enhanced professional visibility of individual authors and research centres
  • efficient organisation of research output
  • centralisation of the reporting of research output
  • preservation and provision of long-term access to research output

Who can contribute to ACQUIRE?

Contributors will be members of the CQUniversity community, including academic staff, higher degree research students and (where appropriate) general staff of CQUniversity.

Contributors may include outsiders if they are co-authoring with CQUniversity authors or are closely affiliated with the University.

The ACQUIRE policy details the types of materials that may be included in ACQUIRE.
