Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. About the Author:

Kathryn Stockett was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a degree in English and Creative Writing, she moved to New York City where she worked in magazine publishing and marketing for nine years. She currently lives in Atlanta with her family. The Help is her first novel.

Selected as the 2010 Indies Choice Book of the Year – Adult Debut.

Selected as the 2010 Southern Independent Booksellers Association's Book of the Year for Fiction.

The book has also been turned into a motion picture film released by Touchstone Pictures and DreamWorks in 2011. It has received a number of nominations and awards.
