CQUniversity has a number of ISL (videoconference) lecture theatres on the Bundaberg, Mackay, Gladstone, and Rockhampton campuses. Each ISL theatre includes next generation "dual video" presentation and recording features. This maeans that students and staff can view both the presenter and the materials being presented simultaneously (e.g. presenter and PowerPoint, or presenter and movie etc).
Staff can use CQUniversity's ISL theatres to present a lecture across multiple campuses.
The control system (touch panel) in each theatre has been designed to make participation by the presenter and students easier and more accessible. An example of the ISL theatre touch panel is pictured below.
ISL presentations can be recorded and made available for students or staff to view online. The ISL recording system can record the dual video streams (presenter & materials), which greatly improves the quality of the online recording and the lecture play-back experience for study revision.
Note: If dual video is used during a presentation, the final recording of the lecture will use a picture in the picture (PIP) view to display both the lecturer and presentation. An example of what a recorded presentation will look like is pictured below.
This is useful for lecturers using dual video during an ISL lecture that is being recorded. It indicates where the image of the presenter will be displayed (i.e. top-right corner) after an ISL presentation has been recorded. Below is an example of what a recorded ISL presentation will like when it is being viewed online.
