Adobe for Staff

The Adobe Site License is a whole of University site license which covers a specific suite of Adobe products - on both Windows and Macintosh platform.

Please check System Requirements before installing.

Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium, which covers:

Upgrade Protection Maintenance: rights to automatic version upgrades.

Available to staff at Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Mackay, Emerald, Noosa, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne campuses

Software may only be installed on machines belonging to or under the direct control of the University ie CQUniversity owned/leased computers.

How do I get the software?

AIC staff - please contact your Local Campus IT Helpdesk

CQ Regional Campus staff - Self-install (refer instructions below)

Windows: Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Add New Software. Locate "Adobe Design Premium CS4" and click "Add".

Note: No serial number required - this is incorporated into the install package.

Macintosh: Self-install from Finder -> select Go -> Connect to Server -> type AFP://ametrine -> then click "Connect". A dialouge box will appear -> select "Connect as Guest" and click "Connect". Select Mac_Software folder and click "OK". Select Mac Applications folder to expand. Select Adobe Applications folder to expand.

Double-click "Adobe CS4 Design Premium.dmg" (for InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash Pro and/or Dreamweaver).

Double-click "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.dmg" (for Acrobat Pro).

Double-click "Adobe Firewires CS4.dmg" (for Fireworks).

Note: Serial number required for installation - refer to "CS4 Design Premium Mac Key.txt" file in the Adobe Applications folder.

Other Adobe Software Licensing

This program is a volume-based, points scheme agreement which offers Adobe purchases at a discount pricing level - the more licenses CQUni purchases as a combined unit, the more points we achieve and the higher our discount level. Currently we are in the top discount level ie approx 30% less than standard 'Education' pricings.

Applies to a full range of Adobe products eg After Effects, Audition, Captivate, Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements, Premiere Pro, Video Collection, Master Collection, and many more.

Windows and Macintosh platform

Costs apply - you can purchase either:

(a) a License only, or
(b) License with Maintenance*

* Maintenance Upgrade Protection - must be purchased at time of new license purchase - it can not be added on later.

  • Means automatic upgrades when new versions are released
  • Required to pay annual fee due July each year (approx 20-30% of license cost).
  • If you choose not to renew your maintenance, your still own the license but only at the current version

How do I get the software, request pricing or purchase a license?

  • Contact your Local Campus IT Helpdesk
  • If purchasing, you must provide:
    • Name, Number and Faculty/Division
    • Computer Host ID (ie red tag on computer - eg ITD-T12345)
    • Product Title, Version, Operating System (ie Windows or Macintosh)
    • Number of licenses required
    • Upgrade Maintenance (if required)
    • Financial Authorisation and cost code

Software will be deployed/installed once all information is provided.

Use of Adobe products is governed by Adobe's End User License Agreement (EULA) which accompanies each Adobe Product.
