On returning to Australia I established Queensland Mobile Electrics in 1990, undertaking domestic and industrial installations. From 1997 to 2001 I undertook several roles in production and maintenance with Queensland Magnesia (QMAG) From 2001 to present I have undertaken a more active role in managing a Travel Agency I had purchased in 1997 as a passive investment. In this period we have developed a new business model called SPECIALTY TRAVEL that subcontracts high quality staff undertaking Specialist Travel Management Services.

He has worked as a research engineer at Red Tulip Chocolates and the EPA-Victoria. Grant joined CQUniversity after working for 16 years at Victoria University, in the later years as Head of the School of Molecular Sciences. His research expertise is in industrial microbiology, especially ethanol fermentation for beverages and as a biofuel.

I currently manage the Community Development Section at Rockhampton Regional Council. In addition to paid employment, I have served on various community group management committees, networks and forums over the years and have therefore developed a good level of practical experience and knowledge of issues and trends impacting the human service sector and communities in general.
