The Community and Engagement Hub presents a 1.5 hour workshop on Ethics in Engagement.

Session Objective

To provide participants with an understanding of community engagement, how to develop an ethical community engagement plan and a brief overview of supporting engagement theory.

Session Content

  • To establish an agreed ethical working definition of community engagement
  • To ascertain what literature says about community engagement
  • To become familiar with, and understand the purpose of the IAP2 Spectrum
  • To consider and appreciate community engagement from the client / citizen perspective
  • To consider the ethical implications of the NCDD Core Principles for Public Engagement on current practice
  • To see how the IAP2 and World Bank Stakeholder Analysis tool can help develop an ethical community engagement plan
